Rebecca H. Cloninger

Rebecca Harwell Cloninger, 87, of Dallas, NC died peacefully on May 1 at Robin Johnson House.

She was born October 13, 1924 in Gaston County to the late Kruger A. and Mary Pasour Harwell.
Rebecca retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital where she worked as a nurse, caring compassionately for her patients through the years. She enjoyed her family, keeping up with world news, and loved Holy Communion Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Dallas, with the Rev. Dr. Edward Crotty officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

She is survived by her three of her children: Roxanna Cloninger Britton, Amy Cloninger Holland and husband Ronald L. Holland, R. Scott Cloninger and wife Betty Crisp Cloninger, all of Dallas; her grandchildren: Andy Britton, Benjy Britton, of Lewisville,Texas, Becky Britton Mauney, Millie Holland Clemmons, Joe Holland and wife Brandy Rollins Holland, Sara Holland Bone and husband Jeremy Lee Bone, Jason Cloninger and wife Summer Cloninger, and Eli Cloninger; her great-grandchildren: E. J. Call, Tori Call, Zia Mauney, Ethan Britton, Meredith Clemmons, Jack and Lilly Holland, C.J. and Miles Bone, and Wesley Cloninger; sister, Coleen Cloninger Peeler and brother-in-law Jerry Peeler; sisters-in-law, Grace H. Cloninger, Helen F. Cloninger, and Marlene C. White and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank two very special women who helped care spiritually and physically for Rebecca: Frances Accor and Linda Williams.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Raymond Lewis Cloninger, her daughter, Melanie Leigh Cloninger, and her son-in-law Benny W. Britton.

The family will be at the home of Ron and Amy Holland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, PO Box 597, Dallas, NC 28034.
