Ray E. Hill

Gastonia- Ray Eugene Hill, 81, passed away peacefully February 19, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was a native of Gaston County, born February 3, 1930 to the late Charlie and Goldie Barlowe Hill.
Ray retired from Pinkney Mills after 45 yrs. of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James F. 'Tiny', Lonnie, Artis and Charles, Jr. 'Jim' Hill;
sisters, Estelle Hughes, Etheleen Holden, Grace Whitworth, Jeanette Gibson, Ruth Lutz and Susie Quinn

Survivors include his wife of 38 yrs., Maxine Long Hill;
his sons: Hilton, Arvel, Charlie, Carroll, Tim Hill, Jimmy Nivens, daughters, Vanessa Whitaker and Lynn Workman;
and a sister-in-law Sadie Hill;
Twenty one grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren,
three great great grandchildren
Visitation will be 3:00 until 4:00 prior to the service
Celebration of Life service will be 4:00 pm, Tuesday, February 22, 2011at Yorkwood Church of God with Pastor Joel Shirley and Pastor Tommy Holbrooks officiating
Interment will follow immediately at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery
