1941-2017
Gastonia – Phyllis Jenkins Adams, 76 passed away peacefully on June 25, 2017 at the Robin Johnson House with her loving family by her side.
On May 24, Phyllis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but she did not lose her battle with cancer…. SHE LIVED the last four weeks since being diagnosed graciously and courageously! She will be greatly missed by so many!
Phyllis was a graduate of Dallas High School. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Phyllis was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Belmont, NC. She enjoyed framing pictures and traveling around the world. She loved dentistry and had worked in it for over 58 years, serving at Dr. J.E. Pruett and Dr. Joe Hourihan's office for most of her career. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids!
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee and Virginia Rhyne Jenkins, her husband Harold Dean Adams and a brother Robert (Bobby) Jenkins.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Harold Lane Adams and Brian Franklin and wife Christie McCombs Adams, grandchildren Anthony James Adams, Walker Thomas Adams, and Stella Katherine Adams; brother James Lee and wife Joyce Davis Jenkins, and sister, Penny Mitchem Jenkins; dear cousins Pat Miller and Betty Simms; and her beloved cat, Cathryn along with many wonderful friends…
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27th in the Sanctuary of Antioch Lutheran Church, 330 Old NC 277 Loop Road, Dallas with a celebration of life service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 28th at Antioch Lutheran Church with Reverend George Rhyne and Reverend Bobby Whittaker officiating.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of the Robin Johnson House for their kind and compassionate care provided to Phyllis and their family.
