Terrell – Philip David Duck, 70 passed away May 30, 2017 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Madison County on June 5, 1946 to the late Pender J. and Bertha Chandler Duck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Teague and brother, Kenneth Duck.

Philip was a member of Restoring Hope, Dallas. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Ithaca Textiles; later working and retired from FORBO-SIEGLING, Huntersville. He will be remembered for the love and devoted care he provided to his wife as her caregiver during the last two years.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Veronica Kennon Duck; a son Philip David Duck, Jr., and Ruby Styles and their son Philip David Duck, III; step children Deborah Brown and husband Jeff, Kim Briggs and husband Jeff; brothers P.J. Duck and wife Mary, Eddie Duck, Everette Duck and Tommy Duck;
sisters, Marie Duck, Elizabeth Willis and husband James, Shirley Strum and husband James; other grandchildren, Angie Bensen, Patrick Bussell and fiancé Emily, Derek Bussell, Jeffrey Briggs and wife Sylvia; Jacob Briggs; two great grandchildren, Walker Bussell and Miriam Schneider-Briggs; many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., prior to his service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3rd at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church, 1026 Dallas Stanley Highway, Dallas, NC with Reverend Fred Morrison officiating.

Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. at Middle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Mars Hill, North Carolina.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Briggs, Jeff Brown, Darren Strum, Derek Bussell, Bill Rhyne, Patrick Bussell and Everett Duck, Jr.
