Belmont-Peggy Ewing Lloyd, 80 of 222 Dogwood Lane, Belmont passed away peacefully February 26, 2011 at Terrace Ridge.
She was a native of Gaston County, born January 30, 1931 to the late Price Ewing, Sr. and Rosa Chapman Ewing.
Peggy was a 1949 graduate of Belmont High School, and was 2nd in her graduating class, she was also Senior class officer. She worked for WBTV after finishing high school. Peggy worked for FH Ross Chemical Company, Charlotte, Burris Chemical for over 25 years and retired from Taylor Salt and Chemical after 12 years.
Peggy was a member of East Belmont Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred Lewis Lloyd who died July 5, 2007; a son John Benson Christenbury, Jr.; brothers, Price Ewing, Jr and Robert Ewing; sisters, Eloise Ewing and Glenda Sue Davis;
Survivors include her sons: David 'Skip' Christenbury of Midland, NC; Steve Christenbury of Concord, NC;
daughters: Anna Carol Herman-Giddens of Chapel Hill, NC; Rebecca Lloyd Dalton of Virginia Beach, VA and Renee Hellams of Charlotte; Eight Grandchildren: Anna Ressman, Catherine Hellams, Joshua and Tyler Christenbury, Lewis Michael and Colby Jones, Sam and Tillman Dalton
Sister-in-law, Jackie Ewing; brother-in-law, Burl Davis and a niece who was like a sister, Judy Felton;
A cousin and special dear friend David Robinson; and a special friend Beverly White, who took care of Peggy's every need.
The family will receive friends 7:00 until 9:00pm Monday at 222 Dogwood Lane, Belmont
Graveside service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Greenwood Cemetery with David A. Robinson officiating
