Gastonia –Peggy Short Gibson, 72, passed away on September 20, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center Main, Charlotte.
She was born in Gaston County on February 8, 1943 to the late Horace Lee and Ella Vae McSwain Short
Peggy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed by everyone that knew her! She was known for her cheerful smile, kind words and great sense of humor. She will not be forgotten by her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She loved them so and always attended faithfully every school function and every sporting event. Peggy had so many friends that never lost contact with her and were a special part of her life.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, James Russell Gibson; son, James Russell "Russ" Gibson, Jr. and wife Sara of Huntersville, NC; daughter, Heather Gibson Stowe of Gastonia; Grandchildren, Stella Ray Gibson, Phillip Gibson Stowe and Hunter Andrew Stowe; brother, Jeffrey M. Short and wife Vickie of Gastonia;
Nephews, Zachary Short and wife Ashley of Asheville, NC; Bronson Short of Gastonia and nieces, Leigh Andra Short, Allie Short of Gastonia; Kayla Short Bryant and husband Chris of Belmont
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 26th at East Baptist Church, Gastonia with Reverend Gordon Blalock officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will follow the service at the church.
