Maiden – Peggy Jean Chislom, 65 passed away peacefully on October 14, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Catawba County on September 16, 1954 to Helen Henry and the late Everette Sanders. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by Husband, Lloyd "Porkchop" Chislom; her daughter, Natrina; and her sister, Darlene Henry.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Henry of Newton, NC; daughters, Faye Henry and husband, Corey Broadie of Claremont, NC and Tarisha Henry of Newton, NC; 6 grandchildren, Keyamber Chislom, Kadashia Wilfong, Johntavasia Henry, Cor'nisha Broadie, Austin Chislom and Jacoshia Huitt and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tony Henry, Ronnie Henry, Gary Henry, Dennis Henry, Steve Henry and Rush Jr. Henry; sisters, Geraldine Holloway and Terry Connor; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19th at St. James AME Zion Church, 501 South D Avenue, Maiden followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow funeral service in Maiden Rosenwald Cemetery.
