Pearl Parris Champion

Pearl Parris Champion, 88, a beloved wife, caring mother, and cherished member of the community passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024 at Peak Resources. She was born in Clover, South Carolina on December 23, 1935 and is the daughter of the late Ruby Walker Parris Moose.

She was a former employee of Smyre Plant of Carolina Mills, where she was the Editor for the Carolina Mills Employee newspaper.

She was a devoted Christian and is a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church. Pearl took pride in everything she attempted to the best of her ability.

She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and she is loved by so many and will truly be deeply missed by so many.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memories, her two loving daughters, Patti Miller, Sandra Johnson; former son-in-law, Ronald Sauder; three loving grandchildren, Jason Miller (Amy), Chris Johnson, Lindsey Bost (Brandon); four loving great grandchildren, Alyssa Miller, Alayna Miller, Jordan Miller, Jeremiah McMullen.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 until 2:00p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Time Section of Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.

Pearl was preceded in death by her mother; husband of 50 years, Ralph “Pop” Champion; three sisters, Ruth Johnson, Phyllis Parris, Ida Parris; son-in-law, Henry Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson, Sr.
