Paul E. Welch

Gastonia - Paul Edward Welch, 85 of Gastonia passed away January 29, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Belmont, NC born October 24, 1925 to the late Milas Pressley and Gertrude Stone Welch
Paul was a veteran of U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He worked for Pitney Bowes for over 30 years and was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ronald Edward Welch, a brother, Robert Welch and two sisters, Ruth Rumfelt and Mary Ray

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Roxanne Warren Welch;
a son Harold David Welch and his wife Amy H. of Boca Raton, FL.; Three grandsons: Paul Edward Welch, Michael David Welch and Nicholas James Welch; and one sister, Esther Watkins of Newton, NC;

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 pm Monday January 31, in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Brown and Dr. Stephen Hensley officiating. Military Honor will be by the NC National Honor Guard.
The Welch family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service
Interment will follow at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves
