Gastonia - Patricia Reep Messer, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 5, 2020 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gastonia on April 10, 1947 and is the daughter of the late Nellie Lucas Haas.
Patricia retired from Shoney's Restaurant after 22 years of dedicated service. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by so many.
She loved gardening, bright lights, the beach and Shag dancing. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ronald Ray Messer; one daughter, Tamara "Tami" Renee Messer; one step daughter, Lisa Harper; one son, Jody Messer; 4 grandchildren, Christin Ugolik, Aleigha Caldwell, Kaley Messer, Justin Messer; 4 great grandchildren, Gavin Ugolik, Natalia Ugolik, Chezeray Ugolik, Riley Caldwell.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at the residence 1220 Baker Boulevard, Gastonia, NC 28052.
Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Haas and step-father, William Haas, Sr.; one son, Scottie Messer; one grandson, Tyler Lewis; two brothers, William Eugene Haas, Randall Dean Haas; one sister, Linda Haas.
