Nicole "Nikki" Beatty Simonds, a beloved member of her community, passed away on January 6, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on October 17, 1978, in Gaston County, North Carolina, she was known for her vibrant spirit and infectious smile that brought joy to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, James Williams, Gretta Williams and Jerry Ramsey.
Nikki had a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse (RN) at Atrium Health-Lincoln in the Labor and Delivery unit, where she dedicated many wonderful years to caring for new mothers and their babies. Her passion for healthcare led her to transition to home health care, where she continued to make a significant impact on the lives of her patients. She found great fulfillment in her work, cherishing the relationships she developed along the way. She attended The Height before coming to the UR Church.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nikki was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Daniel Simonds, and their three cherished children, Sydney Morgan Simonds, Ella Ashlyn Simonds, and Elijah Cole Simonds. Nikki's positive influence extended to her parents, Keith Beatty, and Sina Williams Honeycutt, along with her stepfather, George. She also leaves behind her mother and father-in-law, Faye and John Simonds, and a close-knit family that includes her step-brother and sisters: Elizabeth, Lauren, Heather, and Matt, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Nikki was deeply devoted to her faith, spending significant time in Bible study and cherishing her relationship with the Lord. She had a zest for life, enjoying hobbies such as playing cards and board games, painting, and dancing. Traveling with her family was a particular love of hers, where she created lasting memories that she treasured dearly.
Her proudest accomplishments were found in the moments spent with her family, especially her children, as they were the center of her universe. Nikki’s fun-loving personality and her ability to light up a room will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held at UR Church, 2315 Union Road in Gastonia, NC on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 12:00 p.m at UR Church,2315 Union Road. with Reverend Lee Claypoole officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, NC. As this is a Celebration of Life, the family asks that you wear bright colors, floral's, and or sparkles to honor her wishes.
Nikki leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness, and her memory will be cherished by all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.
