Naomi Freeman Bright

Gastonia - Lena Naomi Freeman Bright, 80, entered into Heaven on September 14, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Doris Beaty, in Charlotte with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 4, 1938 in Gaston County and is the daughter of the late Isaac Joshua and Pauline Wilson Freeman.
Naomi loved her family and she loved to cook biscuits. Naomi attended Church of God churches for over 60 years and is a member of South Gastonia Church of God for over 58 years of these 60 years, where she was very involved in all Ministries of her church. She was former Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary, taught Sunday School for over 30 years, and was a Prayer Warrior. She worked for many years in the cafeteria of Victory Christian Academy.
Naomi is survived by two daughters, Doris Beaty and husband Arthur of Charlotte, Robin Marshburn and husband Tim of Gastonia; one brother, Joe Isaac Freeman of Gastonia; four grandchildren and spouses, Artie and Hannah Beaty, Aaron and Brittany Marshburn, Christa and Eric Christenbury, Zach and Rebekah Marshburn; five great grandchildren, Payton Marshburn, Ellis Beaty, Daniel Christenbury, Ivy Beaty, Eva Marshburn.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at South Gastonia Church of God with Rev. Bobby Gilley and Rev. Sammy Barnette officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the Celebration of Life Service in the Sanctuary of South Gastonia Church of God.
Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Paul Daniel Bright; three brothers, Robert Freeman, John Ezra Freeman and infant Brother Freeman; two sisters, Eva Helton and Edith Hannah.
