Nancy Carolyn Mills

Nancy Greene Mills, 75, went home to be with her Lord on the morning of March, 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Cleveland County to the late James W. and Elizabeth Winn Greene. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph (Joey) Allen Mills.

Nancy graduated from South Point High School in 1967 then went on to graduate from Gaston College. Upon leaving college she went to work for UPS where she put in 30 years of service before retiring. She then went on to work with Greater Gaston Baptist Association for several years before retiring completely to have more time to spend with her family who were her life and she loved dearly. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her loving son and caretaker, Gregory Mills (Kim); her precious two granddaughters, Savannah and Anna-Jane Mills; her precious grandson, Nathaniel Rogers (Amber); her precious great-grandchildren, Emily, Hayleann, CJ, Alexandria, and Austin; brothers, Dennis and Mike Greene; sisters, Pat Chaney and Kay Ward; several nieces and nephews; and her good friend, Jane Rogers. She is also survived by Brent and Suzie Parton and their two sons, Liam and Colton, whom she considered her extended family.

Though Nancy was ill, her family took her on a Christmas vacation to Pigeon Forge, to which she had the time of her life.

A celebration of life service will be held at her home, 2600 Quail Ridge Drive, Gastonia, NC, starting 1:00 p.m., March 29th and everyone is invited.
