Nancy Cobb
1938-2018
Lowell - Nancy Jenkins Cobb, 79, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Nancy was born in Dallas and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Whisenant Jenkins.
Nancy was a graduate of Dallas High School, where she excelled in basketball and Gaston Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and after completing Nursing School, she worked for Gaston Memorial Hospital and spent the rest of her nursing career as a nurse for Gastonia Pediatric Associates ( Dr. Marder, Dr. Chambers and Dr. Norcross).
Nancy was a member of McAdenville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's Circle.
Nancy was a very gentle, sweet and caring person that always had the sweetest smile. She was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loved everyone. Nancy was very involved with all of her children and grandchildren's activities such as sports and school activities.
Nancy leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 59 years, Robert Grier Cobb; one daughter, Karen Snyder (Russ) of Laurel, Maryland; three sons, David Cobb (Whitney) of Brookshire, Texas, Jim Cobb (Kim) of Jamestown, North Carolina, Robert Cobb (Haley) of Rutherfordton; grandchildren, Elie Burns (Ben), Bridgett Snyder, Taylor Cobb, Preston Cobb, Courtland Cobb, Elliott Cobb, Alec Cobb, Justin Cobb, Wyatt Cobb, Callie Cobb, Carter Cobb; (two sisters, Rita Kirkland (Ray), Dorothy Blake of Dallas; two sisters-in-laws, Emma Shuler (John) of Gastonia, Jimmie Kate Johnson of Lowell; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p. m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at McAdenville Baptist Church, 192 Main Street, McAdenville with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at McAdenville Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Griggs officiating.
Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia with the Releasing of the Doves.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Blake; infant brother.
