Dallas – Miriam "Susie" Moffitt McSwain, 78, passed away on July 4, 2020 at the Robin Johnson House.
She was born in Hendersonville, NC to the late Houston and Dovie Williamson Moffitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Douglas McSwain' her sisters, Eva "Pete" Coley and Velvie "Bunk" Jones and a brother, Bill Moffitt.
Susie was a member of New Height Baptist Church, Dallas. She enjoyed trips to the beach, shopping and eating out; her favorite was eating deserts. For many years she would visit the nursing homes and take Little Debbie cakes to all of them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
Susie is survived by her daughters, Kim McSwain, Barbara (Doug) Woodie, Mandy (Jeff) Benfield; grandchildren. Casey and Chase Woodie, Clay McAbee, Braydon and Ashley Benfield; brothers, Sam (Sue) Moffitt, Joe (Billie) Moffitt.
and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service
Interment will be private at Gaston Memorial Park
Pallbearers will be Doug Woodie, Chase Woodie, Jeff Benfield, Braydon Benfield, Clay McAbee and Mike Leonhardt
