Gastonia – Millie Jenkins Rhyne, 84 went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9th at the Brian Center.
She was born in Mecklenburg County on April 25, 1934 to the late Edward Lee Jenkins, Sr and Stella Claire Lee Duncan Jenkins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Julius Ray Rhyne, Sr.
Millie enjoyed gospel music and the piano, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed!
Millie was a member of the Assembly of God and attended Bethlehem Church.
Left to cherish her memories includes her son, Rusty (Angela) Rhyne, daughter, Angie Rhyne Lunsford; grandchildren Greg (Cydney), Jessica (Jeff), Jamie and Andrew; great grandchildren, Mattison, Camdyn, Kymbra and Kodah; brothers Bob (Karen) Jenkins, Buddy (Jane) Jenkins.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 12th from 1:00 until 2:00 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dickie Spargo and Reverend Lamar Creel officiating.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves. Pallbearers will be Greg Yelton, Rodney Gassaway, Loyd Lunsford,
Ricky McDonald, Danny Lunsford and Jeff Crawford.
