Gastonia – Mickey Arlan Rankin - Heaven came down and joy did fill my soul…..Heaven came down for Mickey Arlan Rankin, 68 on May 24, 2016 to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was born on August 22, 1947 to the late Sexton Glenn Rankin and Nora Foster Rankin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Rankin; two sisters, Geneva Lucas and Bobbie Nichols and a step-daughter Kimberly Cushing.
He is survived by his wife Carleen Hester Rankin who was his soul mate and best friend. His loving daughter, Cindy Rankin Rollins (Reid); two sisters, Peggy Hayes (James) and Boots Lewis. Sister-in-law, Mary Rankin. Granddaughters, Chrissy Cushing and Kera Atkins (Kera's dad Steve); grandson, Scott McCall;
several nieces and nephews and two precious Chihuahuas', Ziva and Willy.
He loved his church and church family and his Pastor Brother Odell Cook.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.
