Michele (Shelly) Barabas Barnes

Kings Mountain-Michele Barabas (Shelly) Barnes, 57 passed away Sunday December 15, 2013 at the Robin Johnson House after a courageous battle with cancer. She will always be remembered for her wonderful smile and her ability to recognize the good in everything and everyone.

Shelly was born December 29th, 1955 in Chicago, daughter of the late Joe and Louise Arold Barabas.
She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years Bobby Barnes, sons Robert Barnes (Robbie) and wife Jennifer of Kings Mountain, and Matthew Barnes of the home, Brothers – Robert Joseph "Bob" Barabas of Chicago, Martin Joseph Barabas and wife Nicole of Forest City.
Father and Mother In-law, Ed and Elizabeth Barnes of Dallas,
Brother and Sister In-laws, Steve and Dianne Barnes of Gastonia,
Michael and Jay Barnes of Summerville, South Carolina and Joseph and Rebecca Barnes of Patterson Springs NC.
Shelly is also blessed by numerous nephews who loved her very much. Shelly retired from BellSouth after 32 years of service.

The family will receive friends at from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm Wednesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Christian Mass will be 10:00am Thursday, December 19th at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Matthew Buettner and Deacon Andy Cilone officiating
Interment will follow at the Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain with the Releasing of the Doves
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P O Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054
