Gastonia-Michael Thomas Freeman, 35 of Gastonia passed away November 8, 2012.
He was a native of Gastonia, born April 18, 1977.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, DeWitt and Eleanor Freeman of Salisbury
Mike was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army for 8 years, serving one tour in Iraq. He was also a Tanker and member of the Boots on the ground. He was the proud father of an amazing daughter Karly Belle, who he loved spending time with, She was the love of his life. Mike enjoyed camping with his dad, water sports, the outdoors and loved life..
He was a soccer player since he was five and also enjoyed skating as a child.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Larry & Deborah G Davis of Gastonia, his father, Thomas V Freeman and wife Patricia; his daughter Karly Belle Freeman of Belmont; Two sisters, Dana Nelson and husband Chris of Franklin, IN; and Elizabeth Clanton and husband Dustin of Mt. Holly; maternal grandparents, Paul and Carolyn Grenier of Gastonia; niece Amber Nelson and nephews William and Jonathan Nelson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Monday at St Michaels Catholic Church with Father Roger Arnsparger and Reverend Mr. John
Weisenhorn officiating
Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00, Sunday, November 11 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont with Military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
