Gastonia – Michael Dean Atkins, 52 passed away on August 31, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main surrounded by family.
He was born in Gaston County, NC on November 4, 1964 to Vickie Wenzel Atkins and the late Douglas Leon Atkins.
Michael loved living life to the fullest! He adored his grandchildren, was skilled in carpentry, and enjoyed spending time at the beach. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Left to cherish his memories includes his daughters, Sierra Jennings and son-in-law, Bryan; Brittany Farrar and son-in-law, Stephen; Cheyenne Atkins
grandchildren, Maddox, Emalyn and Kellan Jennings; his mother, Vickie Wenzel Atkins; brothers, Dougie, Scott and Perves Atkins.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, September 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6th in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
