Clover – Merlene McCaskill Chasteen, 47, passed away on February 4, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center Main.
She was born in Gaston County to the late Daniel John and Myrtle Bostic McCaskill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Tyler and Isaac Chasteen, sister Susan Powell and brother Dan McCaskill.
Merlene was a loving mother and YaYa who will be greatly missed! She was a very loving and caring person always putting others first. Merlene was a soldier for God!!
Left to cherish her memories includes her sons Brenton McCaskill and Elijah Powell;
sister Pamela Christine Downs; nieces and nephews, John McCaskill, Elizabeth Powell, Jennifer Stiles, Eric Downs, Geri McAbee and Chase McCaskill;
and her beloved pet Norman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday, February10th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be private
