Melanie Renee Frye-Hussey

Melanie Renee Frye-Hussey, 61, passed away at her residence in Gastonia on February 9, 2024.  

She was born Gaston County on January 8, 1963 to the late Anthony Hussey and Catherine Braswell Randolph. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Derek Landon Hussey and her good friend, Cathy Livermore.  

Renee enjoyed reading her bible, and playing board games with her friends and family. She had a green thumb and took care of her many plants. She loved animals, riding horses, and most of all her dog Benji. Her family meant the most to her and the light of her life was her son, Derek Hussey, who passed away last year.  

She is survived by her sister, Ruthie Helton (Tommy); step-children, Andrew Frye and Amanda Dyer; granddaughter, Landon Colleen Hussey and her mother, Christa Wade; nieces, Evan and Abbey Bragg; great nephews, Kaleb & Kanaan Walls; and her friends, Margie Franks and Dolores Stutzman.  

Services will be announced at a later date.
