Matthew Kyle Burns

Matthew Kyle Burns, 38, passed away at his residence in Simpsonville, South Carolina, on November 7, 2024.

He was born in Gaston County on May 10, 1986 to Roger Burns and Debbie Childress Carver. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Childress, Cynthia Childress, and Phyllis Harris. 

Matthew enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He liked to work on cars and play video games. Matthew also played basketball and enjoyed sports. He will be remembered as someone who was funny and always made people laugh. Matthew loved his family and his children more than anything else. He leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his parents, Roger Burns and Debbie Carver, he is survived by his children, Jordan Burns and Chloe Burns; girlfriend, Jamie Trammell; siblings, Nicholas Carver, Brett Carver (Preston Richardson), Megan Burns, and Trey Burns; and his step-sister, Jessica Bailey. 

A graveside memorial service will take place at 3:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, 1462 Armstrong Ford Road, Belmont, NC 28012 , with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating.
