Gastonia- Matthew Lee "Matt" Bess, 44, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017 at his residence.
Matt was a graduate of Ashbrook High School. He enjoyed playing golf, time at the beach and spending time with family. He did not lose his battle with cancer. He lived graciously and courageously with it until the very end. He will be greatly missed by so many!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Bess.
He is survived by his wife, Kristin Bess; his father, Boyd Lee Bess, Jr.; sons, Andre Bess and Justin Bess; brother, Craig Bess (Selena) and their girls Anna, Kaylee and Jenna; sister, Katie Bess and fiancé Frank Reyes.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Christy Moss and Deacon Zeke Panzica officiating.
