Mary Ann Watts, 73, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
She was born in Mecklenburg County on January 21, 1950 to the late William Carter & Lucy Hodgin Watts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Evie Mae Carr and her brothers, Ted Wayne Watts, Olen Watts, R.L. Watts, Junior Watts, and Troy Watts.
Ann was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord. She went to church and read her Bible until her health issues prevented her from walking and reading. She loved music, especially gospel and country. Ann was very talented and played the guitar and sang. She shared her talent with her church, Faith Baptist, and with the seniors at the Senior Center in Dallas. Ann was kind to everyone she met. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her caregiver and close friend, Barbara Pruitt; many nieces and nephews; and her many good friends.
Family and friends will gather from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Armstrong Cemetery, 703 Osceola Street, Gastonia, NC 28054 with Pastor David Belle Isle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
