Kings Mountain- Mary Guthrie Richard, 86- passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Kinston, NC on January 9, 1931 to the late Loyd and Catherine Nunnery Guthrie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Neal Richard.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sanford, NC where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She loved animals and especially cats; cats were present during her passing at the hospice house. Mary will be greatly missed by all who loved her!
Left to cherish her memories include her son, Neal Richard and a daughter, Cheryl Richard and wife Martha all of Kings Mtn.; cousin, Sybil Elliott of Fayetteville, NC
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7th at Lee Memory Gardens, 2600 Hawkins Avenue, Sanford, NC with Cindy Hall and Matt Garrett officiating.
Family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Sanford Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Sanford, NC; White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain, NC and Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain for their compassionate care of Mary.
