Dallas – Mary Francis McAllister Friday, 93 passed away peacefully on October 5, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born in Gaston County, June 4, 1926 to the late Joseph Earl McAllister and Eunice Pearl Plonk McAllister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Bennie Mattox; husbands, Bennie Mattox and Hugh Friday; brothers and sisters, Albert McAllister, Raymond Bill McAlister, Margaret Ann Davis, Faye Elizabeth Elmore and Fred McAlister.
Mary worked at Talon for over 20 years, Mohican Mill for over 20 years, and the School System for over 6 years. She was a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church and served in Bible School and helped process the bulletins.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Mattox Farmer, daughter-in-law, Brenda Mattox; grandchildren, Jeff Mattox, John Daniel Farmer, Jr., Johnna Putnam, Susan Pastula and Lisa Clemmer; Fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren;
daughter-in-laws, Betty McAlister and Kay McAlister.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday at the residence.
Graveside services will follow at Hovis Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
