Belmont – Mary Ruth Carter Decker, 87 passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Dalton, Georgia on August 8, 1930 to the late George Thomas Carter and Martha Elizabeth Ketchum Carter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Bob, Lee and Martha Decker; brother Earl Whaley.
Left to cherish her memories includes her children, Tim, Elton and Jim Decker, Beverly Thompson and Julie "Bubba" Galloway; Sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; nieces Joyce Fraley and Penny Cope
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17th prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens
Pallbearers will be Michael Decker, Matthew Poole, Jeff Thompson, Alan Thompson, Duncan Thompson and Richard Decker
