Marvin Jerome Welch, 73, of Lawrenceville, Georgia and formerly of Gastonia, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Mr. Welch was born in Gastonia and was the son of the late Mack Gerome and Annie Mae Moore Welch.
Mr. Welch retired from Stork Gamco (Marel) as a purchasing Agent in Gainesville, Georgia. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a plank owner on the USS Enterprise. He loved fishing, hunting and traveling.
Mr. Welch is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Toni Dedmond Welch of Lawrenceville, Georgia; son, Steven Jerome Welch of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Aaron Frampton of Dacula, Georgia; Grandson, Brandon Welch of Duluth, Georgia; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Chelsea and Kody Love of Dacula, Georgia; granddaughter, Elaina Frampton of Dacula, Georgia; grandson, Nathan Frampton of Dacula, Georgia; two sisters, Joann Postell, Linda Welch of Gastonia; half-brother, Mack Welch and wife Geneva of Gastonia and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.
Inurnment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors by the U. S. Navy.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth Elmore.
