1936-2014
Gastonia – Marvin Thomas Bentley, 78, joined our heavenly Father peacefully on
December 26, 2014.
He was born in Lancaster, SC on July 18, 1936 to the late Ernest and Sarah Bentley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bruce Bentley
Marvin was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. Marvin was a faithful member and worked in the church office for over 40 years. He served in the US Air Force and loved spending time with family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Sarah Beaty Bentley
many nieces, nephews and a large extended family that he loved dearly.
Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend David Mason officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Beaty, John L. Beaty, II, Bobby Bishop, Gary McDaniel, Michael McDaniel and Jeffrey Taylor
Honorary Pallbearer will be John L. Beaty
