Margaret Towery McCraw

Gastonia – Margaret Lunette Towery McCraw, 92 passed away June 11, 2013 at Belaire Health Care Center.
She was a native of Gaffney, SC, born October 11, 1920 to the late Avery and Bessie Owens Towery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Summie Sampson McCraw, brothers Gene, J.B. and Charlie Towery, sister Mildred T. Earls
She was a lifelong member of Riverside Baptist Church, where she was active in many different functions, door greeter, Lottie Moon, Annie Armstrong and a member of the TOPS. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren was the love of her life.
Survivors include her son Gerald McCraw and wife Phyllis of West Jefferson, NC; daughter Linda McCraw Thomas and husband Woody of Gastonia; grandchildren Chris Thomas, Stacey Herrin and husband Bill of Dallas; great grandchildren Caitlyn and Shelby Herrin.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Thursday prior to the service
A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00pm Thursday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Allen E. Lefler officiating.
Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Honor B section
