Margaret Deason Hayes, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 7, 1947, in Lincoln County, North Carolina, Margaret's remarkable journey through life was characterized not only by her industrious career at Firestone, where she retired after many dedicated years, but also by her profound commitment to her family. She attended Stanley High School, where she began shaping the values that would guide her throughout her life. Known for her loving and devoted nature, Margaret took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, considering them her proudest achievements.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kimberley Withers (Earl), and beloved son, Charles David "Chuck" Hayes, II (Debbie). Margaret’s heart swelled with joy for her wonderful grandchildren, Logan Alexis Huffstetler (Quinton) and their precious baby, Magnolia "Maggie" Mae, Earl H Withers, IV (Tori) and Justin Hayes. The love and affection she poured into her family were boundless, and her legacy will undoubtedly continue through their lives.
Margaret was also survived by her brother, Richard Deason, and sister, Wanda Spencer, alongside numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. The father of her children, Charles David Hayes, remained an important part of her life, reflecting the strong bonds that family can nurture over time.
As we remember Margaret, we reflect on the beautiful memories shared, especially those treasured moments with her family. From joyous gatherings to quiet moments of connection, Margaret's family meant everything to her. Her cherished love for them was evident in her every action, and her warmth will be felt forever.
Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved parents, James Richard Deason and Susie Taylor Deason, and her siblings—Janice Lemmond, Louise Deason, Charmaine Riley, William Deason, Luther Deason, and Hazel Deason who will welcome her with open arms and love in the next chapter of her existence.
Margaret, with her unwavering love, devotion, and a heart full of memories, leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength. She will forever be remembered not just for her dedication and hard work but for the radiant love she bestowed upon her family, which will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
