Gastonia - Maralyn Stroup Jenkins, 73 passed away July 24, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
She was a native of Chicago, Illinois born August 8, 1938 to the late Ralph Wilson Stroup and Marion Katherine Stroup
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 31 years Roy Pressley Jenkins and a stepson Timothy Jenkins
She was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church, and was retired from secretarial work.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy G. Orazem and husband Jerry of Rocky Point, NC, and Karen Sheets and husband Edward of Elizabethton, TN; Grandchildren Christopher Orazem, Billy Sheets, Shannon Taylor, Eddie Sheets and Angelina Sheets; One sister, Joyce Folger and husband Edward of Missouri
Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 27 at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Hensley officiating
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service
Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery
