Manuel Ravey

May 20, 1943 — July 1, 2024

Lincolnton

Manuel Ravey, born on May 20, 1943, in Pharr, Texas, bid farewell to the world on July 1, 2024, at his residence. Throughout his life, Manuel wore many hats and excelled various endeavors.

After completing high school, Manuel embarked on a journey with the Air Force in 1960, working diligently in the Transportation Management Office. His dedication led him to stations in Panama City, Florida, and Illinois during his enlistment. Following four impactful years of service, he returned home to Dallas. Manuel's career was marked by diversity and determination. He worked at Mason Athletics in Dallas and also dedicated part-time hours at Akers Motor Lines while pursuing his college education at Belmont Abbey. His thirst for knowledge took him to Texas Wesleyan University where he earned a Business Management/Accounting Degree.

On January 1, 1983, Manuel embraced a new chapter marrying the love of his life, Teresa. They shared a deep bond that led them to establish R&R Enterprises— a machine shop business that bore testament to their unwavering partnership until their recent retirement and subsequent decision to sell the business as they set their sights on traveling. Manuel had been a member of Dallas Methodist Church for many years, where he was active on many committees. He always enjoyed his church family and socializing with them. He also enjoyed farming and working with his horses.

Manuel's fond memories include moments spent with Teresa on their farm nurturing numerous animals; from eight cows to over forty chickens and ten donkeys— their beautiful horses, each creature held a special place in his heart.

Manuel leaves behind a trail of loving memories cherished by his surviving family: his devoted wife of 41 years, Teresa Saunders Ravey; children Jeff Ravey, and David Ravey, and Angela Brackett (Matthew); grandson Elijah Hicks and granddaughter, Sumer (Jared); mother-in-law Evelyn Saunders; sisters-in-law Jackie Price, Annette Saunders (Terry Haney), Patti Saunders; as well as numerous nieces and nephews treasured friends.

With a heavy heart but eternal gratitude for his legacy of love and hard work, we remember Manuel Ravey not only for his professional achievements but also for the kindness, love and compassion he shared with those around him. His departure was surrounded by his devoted wife and family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services honoring Manuel's life will be held at Dallas Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6th—starting with Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Billy Ervin and Pastor Frank Herndon officiating, followed by the visitation. As we celebrate Manuel's life and bid him farewell on this earthly journey, may his spirit continue to radiate warmth and inspiration among us all. Memorials may be made to VIA Health Partners, P.O. Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247
