Mrs. Mae Barrier Sigmon, 98, of 2300 Aberdeen Blvd., passed away March 8, 2010 at the Gaston Memorial Hospital
She was born February 2, 1912 in Avery County, daughter of the late Grady and Minnie Biggerstaff Barrier
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Alexander Cromwell Cashion and Jake Sigmon,
her children, Sarah Barnes, Hazel Payne, Doris Mitchell and Harold Cashion, grandson, Cliff Payne
Ms. Sigmon was a member of West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church. She was retired textiles
Survivors include her son, Keith Cashion and wife Freida of Linville Falls, NC
Step-children, Gwendolyn Keziah, Kenneth Sigmon, Alvin Sigmon; 19 grandchildren, 8 Step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren
Celebration of Life service will be 11:00pm, Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel
The family will receive friends 1 hr. prior to the service
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park
