Gastonia – Mable Jackson McAbee, 87 of 716 North Ida Street, Gastonia passed away peacefully July 20, 2013 at Coutland Terrace.
She was a native of Gaston County, NC born October 23, 1925 to the late Luther and Mary Ruth Calloway Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Henry Wade McAbee, four brothers and a sister
Survivors include her children James "Jim" McAbee and wife Katrinka, Ernest "Lee" McAbee all of Gastonia, Mary "Ruth" Nesbitt and husband John of New Bern; five grandchildren Shannon Jones, Melissa Kinley, Christopher McAbee, Melody Roberts and Jamie McAbee and ten great grandchildren Eli, Ben, McKayla, Hunter, Tyler, Holly, Misty, Caleb, Reagan, Nathan and Sierra; and a great great grandchild Brayden
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00am Tuesday prior to the 11:00 am Chapel service at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Lawing officiating
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Time III section with the Releasing of the Doves
