Louise Cloninger Addington Davis

Dallas – Louise Cloninger Addington Davis, 90 passed away peacefully on September 13, 2018 at the Robin Johnson House surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gaston County on December 11, 1927 to the late Ralph Dewey Cloninger, Sr. and Hazel Irene Thornburg Cloninger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Winfred Matthew Addington for 23 years, and Roy Davis for 22 years, sister Isabell Hovis, brothers, R.D. Cloninger, Jr and Floyd "Bud" Cloninger; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Margaret, Trula and Louise Cloninger, Bob, Larry and Lois Addington, Paul Hovis and Robert Crickmore.
Louise went to King Business College and had worked at Wix, Corp. and later Mary Jo's for over 25 years before retiring from BB & T. Louise grew up in Antioch Lutheran Church; married and joined Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church where she was active in Children and Youth Sunday School, Ladies Circle, Church Treasurer for over 25 years, WMU and active in visiting the "Ole People", she loved to visit the shut-ins. Louise was very dedicated to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish her memories includes her sons, Gary (Pam) Addington, Ken (Sheila) Addington, Step sons, Don (Brenda) Davis and their families, Tom (Marsha) Davis and their families; her wonderful grandchildren, Matt (Jennifer) Addington, Emily (Kenny) Walters, Aaron (Ivana) Addington, Kathryn (John) Kirby; great grandchildren, Kylee and Camdyn Addington, Levi and Houston Walters; sister, Irene C Crickmore; brothers John Carrol Cloninger and Buck Cloninger; sister-in-law Margaret Addington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Heath Honeycutt and Matthew Addington officiating. Interment will follow at Long Creek Cemetery with the releasing of the doves.
