Gastonia – Lisa Dawn Queen Spencer, 55 passed away on February 5, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gaston County on September 7, 1965 to Roma Covard Queen and the late Randy Gene Queen. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother Randy Scott Queen.
Lisa was a teacher in the Gaston County School System for over 20 years and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Lisa was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend to all. She was known as "Mana" to her grandchildren and family. She made everyone feel like family. Lisa was a very strong and caring woman. She enjoyed working at "My Big Sister's Closet" in Lowell and was known as the local star for her videoing of daily clothing.
Survivors include loving daughter, Amanda Spencer Trantham and her husband Matthew; her grandchildren,Madison, Matthew Daniel and Mason; her mother, Roma C. Queen; nieces, Zoie and Kelsey and Kelsey's children, Nova and Landon, Casen and Payton; and her dear friends, Matt Chaney and Janice Gravley.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054 and a Celebration of Life Candlelight Service will follow at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Roger Overton Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her Go Fund Page.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
