Linda Weatherford
1945-2022
Linda Perry Weatherford, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Courtland Terrace, Gastonia with her loving family by her side. Linda was born June 21, 1945, in Charlotte and is the daughter of the late Floyd Ellis Perry and Julia Henson Perry and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, H.D. "Buck" Weatherford, infant daughter, Holly Weatherford, and sister Judy Lovin.
Linda grew up in Belmont and was a graduate of Belmont High School Class of 1963. She was a graduate of High Point College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, where she excelled in basketball. Linda was employed by Gaston County Schools, where she taught at Belmont Middle School, where she coached Girls' Basketball and was Athletic Director for Belmont Middle School. Linda retired from Gaston County School in 2003. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Belmont.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Arin Weatherford Farmer; two sons, Cristopher Weatherford and wife Charla, Morgan Weatherford and wife Heather; six grandchildren, Aiden Farmer, Clare Weatherford, Julien Weatherford, Liam Weatherford, Gus Weatherford, Ruby Weatherford; one sister, Anna Perry and husband Buddy.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 807 S. Point Road, Belmont with Rev. George Ragsdale officiating. The family will receive family and friends immediately following the service in Carpenter Hall.
Inurnment for Linda and "Buck" will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont with Rev. George Ragsdale officiating with The Releasing of the Doves to follow the Inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are requested to be made to "Feeding the Children", c/o First United Methodist Church, 807 South Point Road, Belmont, N.C. 28012.
