Dallas – Elizabeth "Libby" Craig Lewis, 63, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare Systems-Lincoln with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Gaston County on March 21, 1954 to the late Tom and Bobbie Harris Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Franklin Lewis.

Libby was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and worked her entire career as a Care Coordinator Liaison for Behavioral Health Management. She was a passionate and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her! Libby loved spending time with her family and her pride and joy; her grandson Carter! She enjoyed gardening, being outside and traveling. Some of her fondest memories include walking on the 7 mile bridge in the Florida Keys and her trips to her mountain home in Spruce Pine.

Left to cherish her memories includes her loving daughter, Tammi Rushing and partner CJ Wright; her beloved grandson, Carter Lewis Rushing; her daughter-by-heart, Stephanie Dover and many special friends; fur babies, Mookie, BJ, Zeppelin and Frostie

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon prior to the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 23rd at 12:00 noon at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Thelena Jackson officiating with the releasing of the doves following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or Mitchell County Animal Rescue, 2492 US-19E, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
