Lessie Branton Henderson

Gastonia- Lessie Branton Henderson, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 2, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Gaston County, NC on February 25, 1930 to the late James Luther and Ollie Mae Laws Branton.

Lessie was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Cramerton, NC. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and was loved by all who knew her!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Henderson and son, Bryan Henderson, twin sister, Bessie Biggerstaff, sister, Violet Palmer, and brother, Robert Eugene Branton.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Debbie Henderson Heafner and husband Charles of Asheboro; grandsons, Charles Heafner and wife Crystal of Stanley, NC and Nathan Heafner and wife Julie of Liberty, NC; great grandson, Dylan Heafner
sister, Nellie Murphy and husband Reverend Dewey Murphy of Charlotte

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 5th at 2:00 pm at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Lefler officiating

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Hillside section with the releasing of the doves

Pallbearers will be Randy and James Biggerstaff, Mike Jordan, Doug Robinson, Roger and Jacob Roberts, and Honorary pallbearers Dylan Heafner
