Lawson Haney

Lawson 'L.J.' Haney, Jr., 63 of 2325 Reepsville Road, Lincolnton, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Gaston County, NC, born January 4, 1948 to the late Lawson Van Haney and Jane Guy Haney. He was retired from Parkdale Mills, and had worked for JP Stevens, Robinson Plant for many years. LJ worked for Goudelock Wrecker Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Crystal Dawn Haney, two brothers, David and Richard Haney

Survived by his wife, Rita Schronce Haney; a son Grady Haney and wife Karen of Dallas; two daughters, Gail Phil and husband Jim of Dallas; Misty Hamrick and husband Danny of Cherryville; a brother, Robert Haney and wife Brenda of Dallas; and two sisters Mary Bowen and husband Jack of Dallas;
Martha Stamey and husband Jerry of Lowell; Grandchildren, Dustin Haney, Jonathan Wooten, Ashley Haney, Alex Williams, Sara Haney and Jacob Phil; great grandchildren Ally Parr, William Watts, Chandler Wooten and Paylin Wooten; and his special dog companion Prissy;
