Gastonia-Laverne Horn Blankenship, 71 of Gastonia went home to be with the Lord May 19, 2010 surrounded by her family.
She was loved dearly by her family and friends
She was a native of Benton County, TN., born May 12, 1939 to the late Jestel and Willa Mac Robinson Fowler
She worked as the Manager of Mercy Place in Belmont, and also was owner and operator of Home Realty
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Blankenship, her son Gary Horn, a brother, Roger Mac Fowler and a sister, Louise Marie 'Toodlum' Douglas
Survivors include her children: Britt Horn and wife Maria,
Robin Champagne and husband Sydney,
Rhonda Williams and husband Curtis
Grandchildren: Jeffrey Ryan Horn and wife Emma, Patrick Sean Horn,
Christopher Michael Horn, Antonio James Horn, Cassandra Nicole Horn, Amber Michelle Hollingsworth and husband Donnie, Heather Shawne Wurtz and husband Neil, Ashley and Luke Williams
Great Grandchildren: Heaven Leigh Horn and Emma Wurtz
Sisters: Justene Cole and Mary Lee Herrin
Father of her children, James Horn
Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 pm, Monday, May 24, 2010 at Covenant Baptist Church with Reverend Olin Byrum officiating
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park
