Dallas – Laura Mae Edison Crook, 71, passed peacefully on November 3, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
Laura was born in Gaston County on March 1, 1951 to the late Nelson and Frankie Perry Edison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Bud” Crook, her son, Nelson Moore and a brother, Donald Edison. She was a retired from Bali after many years of dedicated service. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Laura’s greatest joy and happiness in life came from the devotion she had with her family. On a daily basis she gave solid interaction of unconditional love towards her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Leslie Maples and husband Cameron; her wonderful and loving grandchildren, Brian Green and Austin White; her great grandchildren Braylee, Mason, Bryson and Brelin; Laura’s siblings, Bud Edison, Ray and wife Joyce Edison, and Jane Jenkins; her special companion and friend, David Hood, whom she enjoyed spending time will; her best friend, Juanita Kirk; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
