Maiden – Laura Ethel Gibbs Brice was born on August 19, 1933, in Lincolnton, NC to the late John Crawford and Bertha Finger Gibbs. Laura was received at the gates of Heaven on Thursday, October, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Laura was educated in the Catawba County School System and graduated from Catawba Rosenwald. Laura was a dedicated member of Community Baptist Church for over 35 years.
Laura was employed with Carolina mills for 25 years from which he retired as a spinner after many years of dedicated service.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her brother, Verline Gibbs, sisters, Barbara Ann Lineberger, Gertrude Woods, Nellie Tolliver, Elizabeth Thompson and her two sons, William "Doug" Brice and Terry Brice.
Laura leaves to cherish her memories two siblings, JC Gibbs of Charlotte, NC; and Louise Simpson of Maiden, NC; Five Children, Penill Brice of Newton, NC; Michael Brice (Millissa) of Maiden, NC; Rhodney Brice (Elesia) of Newton, NC; Sandy Brice of Newton, NC; and Sandra Brice of Maiden, NC; and Ten Grandchildren, Tinika McClain of Lincolnton, NC; Lamont Reid of Sanford, NC; Brandon Duncan, Joshua Duncan, Devon Duncan, Tyrone Brice, Janae Williams of Sanford, NC; Asia Henry of Newton, NC; Jennifer Brice of Claremont, NC; Victoria Brice of Maiden, NC; Lamar Brice of Claremont, NC; and Keyana Brice of Newton, NC; Nine Great-Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Quiet Hour will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3147 12th Avenue SW, Hickory, NC 28602. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Williams officiating.
Interment will follow at Maiden Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
