Gastonia- Larry Kenneth Broome, 70, went home to be with the Lord July 19, 2010.
He was a native of Union County, North Carolina, born March 2, 1940 to the late Thomas Curtis and Grace Baker Broome. Larry was a Veteran of the North Carolina National Guard.
He is preceded in death by his
Parents, Brothers, Donald R. Broome, Doyle M. Broome, and Lonnie L. Broome, Sister, Elizabeth Broome Cochran.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Treva Broome, Daughters Karen Broome Sims and husband Mark of Gastonia, Amanda Broome Barker of the home , Grandchildren Brandon M. Sims of Kannapolis, Justin Sims and Wife Keisha of Greensboro.
Brother, Thomas Broome Jr. and wife Jo Lynn of Mt. Holly, Sisters Mildred Terry of Mt. Holly and Peggy Bingham of Lowell, close family friend Jerry Farmer. Special buddies Cali, Hooch, Maggie, Max, Missy, and Tiger.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday in the Masonic section of Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors and releasing of the doves, with Brother David Turner officiating. Family will receive friends following the graveside service.
