LARRY ADDINGTON
1935-2015
Dallas – Larry Forest Addington, 79, passed away on September 29, 2015 at his residence with his wonderful loving family at his side, helping to administer to any and all of his needs.
Larry was born in Cleveland County on November 22, 1935 to the late D.T and Edna McClure Addington
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alison Addington Sabolchick and her husband Joe Sabolchick; a brother Winfred Addington and a sister Lois Addington
Larry graduated from Dallas High School in 1954 and had remained good friends to those of his class who met regularly and kept in touch with each other. Larry joined Nationwide Insurance in his Dallas Office in May of 1970 and although he retired in 1998 he loved his work and continued to be involved with the business with his son, Steve until about a month prior to his death. Larry prided himself in being of help to his clients and friends and went to extremes to help others in any way he could.
Larry and his family have been members of First United Methodist Church in Dallas. Larry was an active member working in numerous capacities with his church. He loved his church and his church family.
Larry was a proud Veteran of the US Army and served in Germany with the Signal Corps during his time there. Larry's many friends and family have been wonderfully supportive in many ways and Larry was extremely touched and grateful for all the love shown to him.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Ratchford Addington, sons, L. Alan Addington and Steven A. and wife Lynn Wilson Addington of Dallas; Grandchildren, Christy Overcash and husband Jonathan of China Grove, NC and their children, Nathan and McKenna; A.J. Addington and wife Allison of Dallas, NC and their son Hunter; Granddaughters; Stephanie Addington and fiancé Seth Irvin and Megan Addington of Dallas, NC; and a brother Bobby Addington
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, October 2nd from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 301 West Main Street, Dallas, NC 28034
Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2nd with Reverend Caroll Flack officiating.

Interment will be private at a later date
