Gastonia- Kimberly Queen Leaphart, 58, of Gastonia passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016.
She was born on June 4, 1958 to Wilburn Thomas Queen and the late Maxine Mobley Queen
Kimberly was a 1976 graduate of Ashbrook High School and Gaston College with a degree in nursing. Kim spent her life serving and helping others as a nurse for 28 years at Gaston Memorial Hospital and Belaire Health Care Center. Most recently she served and encouraged the residents of First Step Farm in Candler, NC as a Resident Manager. Those who knew and loved Kim will remember her as being independent, energetic and fun loving.
She is survived by her son Taylor W. Leaphart, her father, Wilburn "Wib" Thomas Queen, her brother and sisters, Teresa and husband Leslie Davis, Mark T. Queen, Sandy and husband Tim Rollins; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Clements, Caleb Davis, Canaan Morehead, Jordan Rollins and Sarah Rollins; 1 great niece, 5 great-nephews and other dear friends.
Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 12th at 3:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Boyce
officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her father, 4650 Titman Road, Gastonia, NC
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the care and support of loved ones as they honor the life of their beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
