Keith Harrington Platt

Gastonia – Keith Harrington Platt, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2013. Born in Manchester, England, he immigrated to the US in 1957. Keith graduated from Furman University where he majored in Psychology and Foreign Languages and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. After graduation, he spent 17 years in the Army Reserves. Keith worked at Talon for 31 years as an Industrial Engineer and then spent the last 10 years with Wix-Affinia. Keith was married to his high school sweetheart for 47 years and had three children.
Keith is loved and remembered by his wife, Marilyn Platt, his three children, Gregory and wife Sherry; daughter, Tia Mooneyhan and husband Chris and son Richard and wife, Michele. Keith was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Garrett and Victoria Mooneyhan, Bethany and Nicholas Platt and he was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Grace Harrington Platt and his fifth grandchild, Michelle Taylor Platt. Dad will be loved and missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11 o'clock at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home in Gastonia with a wake to celebrate Keith's life to follow at 1230 Still Forest Court, Gastonia. The service shall be performed by Reverend Richard C. Lewis, Jr.
