Gastonia – Kay Elizabeth Ogletree Cooper, 75, formerly of Gastonia passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018 in Brevard, North Carolina.
She was born in Columbia, SC on December 13, 1942 to the late Terry and Elizabeth Brown Ogletree. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sons, Terry Lamar Smith and Claude Gwyn Smith, and her husbands, Lamar Smith and Frank Hunt Cooper.
Kay is survived by her aunt, Sarah Brown Carter. She was active in Temple Baptist Church where she also served as a lay minister to her community. Kay retired from Homelite after many years of service.
Graveside Service will be 1:00 pm, Monday, June 11, 2018 at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
